Our p-day got changed this week due to us going to the temple..
that really is the most incredible place. I seem to always find an answer to
prayers while there, and it just gives you that boost of whatever it is that
you exactly need in that moment. There is simply no substitute for the
blessings of the temple. I wish more and more people realized that and began to
see what we have to offer in this church is more than another set of Christian
beliefs, a different location for Sunday worship,
or whatever else it is in their eyes that we offer. Our church offers blessings
for both now and eternity, literally in no other church can you obtain all that
we have. Basically, the church is true, and it is the only true and living
church on the whole face of the earth.. I would say that is a pretty good truth
to have.
Lately it seems like I have become pretty bold with people,
probably because what we do every day is finding, we are really workin' hard to
find those the Lord has prepared at this time for the gospel. I say I have
gotten more bold because I have come to this point where I just don't want to
waste time with people who just want to waste my time.. I will tell them what I
believe in a very matter of fact way(don't worry, I am being nice to people
still and still being as Christ was-okay I am trying!) and I let them choose
for themselves. I guess I just don't want to have to look at someone someday
again and apologize because I didn't give them their fair opportunity for this
gospel. I just know it is true, I know it blesses lives, and I can say that
because of evidence in my own life. Nothing to be apologetic for at all, I
guess that is a comforting thing to know!
One really neat experience this week was while we were on
exchanges over with the Assistants. We were doing some street contacting and
came in contact with this brother named Ivan.. what a guy! He was super nice
and everything to begin with, starts talking about how he knows about our
church and has attended before.. that is a good start! But then it gets
better.. we keep talking and this guy was actually baptized way back when in
Calgary, but then moved back to Mexico, and lost contact with the Church. Since
he moved back to Edmonton, he hasn't really known where any churches were, but
totally up to finding and attending once more. Super good man. I just have come
to realize that the Lord really will put those who are prepared into our
paths.. it will always happen. This is His work, this is our Father in Heaven's
whole Work and Glory, do you really think they would ever let us work alone? So
grateful for the small and tender moments we have as missionaries.
One funny thing, while in the middle of Elders quorum this week,
the fire alarm got pulled by one of the brother's kids right there in class, it
was a good time! So the other ward was in the middle of sacrament, we were
almost done with church, but had to clear out the whole building into the
freezing cold and wait for the fire department.. we decided it was just
creative finding! Anyways, that was a for sure first!
Hope you are all enjoying life! Have a great week! Talk to you soon.
Love, Elder McFall
