Alright this week we had one of the most incredible experiences I have had for quite some time. So this fellow from England is here trying to get things all figured out to possibly move over here in the summer. He met this brother from our ward at a denture-ist convention (Sounds terribly boring), last year or something. This man named Edward is here though trying to find a place, work etc. and in doing all of that has been staying at a ward member’s house. So we went over there this last week for supper and we shared the message of the restoration. He has met with missionaries in the past, well met missionaries at the England Temple when he was just there and has a copy of the Book of Mormon, but really isn't sure what it's role is in any of this. We taught what I thought to be one of the most powerful lessons of my mission. From the beginning to the end he was making mention of the spirit, and how he was feeling. He was asking the 'golden questions' such as, "Well, I feel that the bible has been changed and we have lost things. I just wish we had more scriptures." Come on!!!! So that was real nice. I know I am not doing all of this justice, but at the end we gave him a soft invite for baptism, whether it be here or in England, he readily accepted. He is a choice man, really loved getting to know him. I hope that our paths may cross again.
We also had our Stake Conference this last week; it was all focused on the Work of Salvation. Really we have such inspired leaders here in our Stake, but also Pres. & Sister Manion. It was a great meeting for both the adult evening session and then Sunday sessions. We are working on getting the entire stake on board to get things in order and really help all the members realize their role in this great and marvelous work. One of the quotes that had been used a couple times is that from this last conference, really from the Hastening Broadcast last June.. that this time in the church is up there with that of the first vision, the coming forth of the Book of Mormon, are we ready? When you look at things in that light, you begin to see that the Lord truly is hastening His work. There are miracles occurring each and every day, do we recognize them? We must simply feel the Eternal Welfare for the souls of those that are around us and we can then bring others into the fold.
I thought I would end on something that just made me real happy just barely..There is this homeless fella over here on the computers and this nice man just gave him some money and got him to go get some lunch.. GO SERVE SOMEONE!
I love you all! I will talk to you soon!
