Week 19 - Good day to you all!

Things have been wild this week!! I can't even believe it! I'll start with saying that we got transfer calls this morning, and I will be training! It will be such a good experience. Definitely going to learn a lot, a huge growing experience is ahead. I guess basically taking over the area this last transfer has been preparing me for this!

The work went really well up in Barrhead this last week for the days that we were there! We got 3 new investigators! One is the wife of a super less-active guy. We tried them and they immediately invited us in the first time a couple weeks back. Then this last week we went in there and taught them a good lesson, and they are now pretty interested. His questions are all doctrinal that can be answered with the lessons we teach, and she loves the idea of eternal families. Hopefully things continue to go well with them! It would be awesome to see them come back and be a part of the church! The other new investigators are some formers that we found in the area book. They are this couple with two kids, they are good people though. We set up a return appt for this week! We will see what happens. They love the church they go to, but who knows! We like to be real positive!

Another really cool experience this week though. So in Clyde which is about 10 minutes east of Westlock, we tracted into this lady named Spring about the middle of January or something, In the approach I used the Book of Mormon and actually left her with one. We came back like a month later and she said that she was reading it a little bit, and wanted one for her boyfriend to read. We stopped in this last week, she wasn't there, but her boyfriend was. I asked him about the BofM and he said that he had been reading it and he likes it! I probably had to pick my jaw up off the ground! I asked him if he wanted to talk about it and he was like yea but Spring isn't here. Come back this weekend and talk to us, that would be awesome. Unfortunately we weren't around, but this Wednesday or Friday I am going to go out there! It's just cool to see how someone is reading the Book of Mormon of their own free will, and they want to talk about it! Wish us luck!

This week was a lot of fun though! We went up to Barrhead/Westlock on Wednesday, planned on coming home Thursday, but we got snowed in! It snowed so much basically all the highways were shut down! So we stayed and worked that whole day! it was a lot of fun! It just made me laugh though because that would like only happen up here!

The work is going to be different with having my own greenie up in Barrhead though! The ward is growing though! We have two families that are moving into the ward within the next few months! It will be awesome! It really is the size of a large branch, but we have ward status. I love the people up there. i am stoked to be back up there for the next transfer, well most likely two transfers. Serving in this tripanionship has helped me learn a lot. Things are actually really good now. There are some super frustrating times. The two companions like don't talk in the lessons we have up in Barrhead, they are just silent! I was basically just giving lessons by myself, they wouldn't talk! It is difficult...but you just get over it. They talk all the time in the lessons down in the Parkland ward, which is frustrating, but I am learning more and more about how to do missionary work. More than anything it is being real with people, and really just trying to help them. Having real conversations with them. I love it.

I am really loving the missionary work right now. I have grown to love a lot of the people that are in the Parkland ward..but I may see them again, who knows! There are definitely some individuals here that I am going to miss. People that I know I could have helped, but I am called to be in a different part of the Lord's vineyard. This week I have definitely felt that there is something specific I need to do while up in barrhead. That my work up there simply is not done.. we will see what ends up happening! I must trust in the Lord, and those things will happen! It's been fun in the Tri though. I have been able to teach these two a lot of things it seems like. Ranging from missionary work type things, all the way to teaching them how to cook! haha it is fun! I have enjoyed being able to help in many different ways! It's funny to see how these people from all different backgrounds come together and help each other in so many different ways!

I will let you all know who my "boy" is next week! More missionary lingo I know..it just means who I end up training! I am excited! I hope all is well with all of you! Sorry that this email is much shorter!! I will talk to you soon!

Love, Elder McFall
