Hello to Everyone!
I hope you have all had a very enjoyable week!! I know that I did, but it was a long one this week! We stayed very busy and taught a good number of lessons, which I do enjoy! Being a busy missionary helps out a ton, plus if you are busy you are doing what you should! Makes sense right?
Anyways, for a couple stories from the week. I'll start with this morning! Our car got robbed!!! haha my companion basically is lazy and doesn't lock things, ever. I have to remind him like everyday. Last night I guess I didn't remind him cause this morning when we got to our car we see it had our credit cards from the mission stolen out of the glove box! whoops is right, that wasn't something you want to call the transportation leader about haha oh well it all happens for a reason right? Maybe he will lock things up now!
To update on our investigator named Heath that we tracted into! Okay so we got in touch with him this week, and he had read parts of the restoration pamphlet and liked it. We then talked about Mormon.org and he has already looked into that and liked what he has seen! We couldn’t meet with him like we had planned later in the week cause he had a "hot date" so we will probably meet this week! He is such a cool guy though! I can see him being baptized! Let's hope I'm not too crazy though!
A cool experience with an investigator this week. His name is Adam and he always seems to want proof. He has been talking to the missionaries for like 3-4 years. This week we went in there and guns were a blazing. We just started riflin out the tough questions. We were getting him to really think about what he wants to get from the missionaries! It was cool though because as we taught I thought about a scripture in Ether 12:6 where it talks about you don't have proof until your faith has been tested! His biggest problem is trusting in his feelings from the Holy Ghost. He lacks faith...But we have seen a nice growth and it seems that he now sees what he must do to really figure this one out!
Our other investigator family with the 3 kids that should be baptized is moving along nicely! Hopefully the legal issues are worked out there! They are basically members, they come to everything, just not baptized. It's pretty lame! We are working on it though!
Every week I pray about what I will be able to bring to you all, I guess my "Elder McFall Message" right? And the thought that has come to mind is one that we have been sharing a lot with the families of our ward. We are talking about family mission plans. These plans are basically meant to build both the testimonies of the members of the family within their own homes, but also helping families recognize the missionary opportunities that they can be a part of. Not only that, but we are working with them to seek their own missionary opportunities. So some of the things that families will say are like read together the Book of Mormon, Pray together daily, etc. And for others they will say invite this family to church, missionary lessons, FHE, or other things like that. But the one I would like to emphasize with you all is the concept of service. This encompasses all aspects of missionary work. Inviting others to come unto Christ is the first line of the missionary purpose. This doesn't just mean inviting someone to take the discussions or anything. To build their faith, increase their dependability on the Lord, and trust the Lord for all that they do. To me this would be done through service throughout the community. Do something for someone at all times. It's so easy to get into our own routine and not worry about what is happening to the people around us. However, think of how you could help someone you would never expected. Think that you may be the answer to someone's prayers. Wake up and pray for missionary opportunities, listen closely to the promptings of the Holy Ghost throughout the day, and always act on the promptings you do receive. People are always talking about the joy that a missionary feels. This joy comes from feasting on the words of Christ, Praying Continually, Relying on the things you receive, and looking outward. Each of us can enjoy that happiness; I know that to be true!
I love you all so very much! You are all in my prayers! Your prayers help more than you could ever know! I'll try and do something even cooler this week! Keep up the good work down in the U.S.A!! Don't get too cold! This week is supposed to be warmer up here, I'm stoked! Well warmer is all relative!
I'll talk to you all very soon!
Love, Elder McFall
