Week 78 – Woah

It is like a spiritual power play right now with being able to talk to my family yesterday, well two days ago now (where did Monday go?), and then being able attend the temple this morning! Seriously what a blessing that is! Every time I get the opportunity to find solace in that Holy House, it just brings a new level of understanding and a sense of God's love for each of us. I think I have just begun to realize how much he is working to bring us back to him, in whatever way we will come. With talking to all different people, that is something that I really do feel that people want. They want to feel His love. Only we can offer that true love and closeness through the Restored Gospel. One other thing that I guess stuck out to me was just how we are all on this path at a varying level of conversion, whether we are just finding faith, steadily growing, struggling, our conversion is something that grows and shrinks with the winds of life. We really are here to never lose sight of our eternal purpose and goal, of doing all that is necessary for us to return with our families to our Heavenly Home.

This last week we saw some real good things happen. Work is still moving right along with the less-actives we have here in the ward. They are starting to get the big picture and we are really helping them to establish goals within the gospel, while also working with the members of the ward. We are getting there though! "How great is his joy in the soul that repenteth!" I love being able to help someone find that testimony again. Things with our investigators are a bit stagnant in some areas, but in others things are growing. Our pool is really seeing an increase, well just the one last week, which is still good, but this week we have already scheduled to get 3 or 4! Keep us in your prayers! Things are coming around... I know that these hearts are being prepared and softened. A really neat experience was this week with a brother named Cedric. He was brought to our Stake Carnival by our bishop; they have only known each other for a little while. He came there and we had a good chat to begin with, but then ended up giving him a church tour, even amongst the chaos, and teaching him most all the restoration. We ended the tour in the chapel, and even though there were kids all over, a carnival going on, there was an absolute peace and solitude only that room could bring. He felt the spirit so strongly, and then wanted a copy of the Book of Mormon and to learn more. He will be meeting with the missionaries in his area and going onward! Good things.

Right now we are working really hard as a mission to really baptize. A scripture came to my mind this last week while in our Zone Meeting... Acts 5:29. "Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, ‘we ought to obey God rather than men’." It just hit me that the only person who has ever said we cannot baptize consistently is man, God has and will not ever say this is not possible. We need to have more faith in him and his promises! So that is what I am doing!
The other sweet part of the week was going on exchanges with Elder Winnie from back home! It was wild I tell ya! Never in a million years would I have imagined that happening! He is a great missionary though, super stoked to be serving around him even more. The Lord has been too good to me!

I'll talk to you soon! Love you all!

Love, Elder McFall
